Supporting our neighbors.
Garfield Refining is proud to support many causes and nonprofits in the Philadelphia community and beyond. Here are just a few philanthropic efforts we’ve done.
Since 2019, Garfield Refining has been honoring Earth Day by giving back to the community with community service through Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Employees gather at Tacony Creek Park (five minutes from our refinery!) to plant trees, pick up trash, and remove invasive vines.
In September 2020, Garfield donated 240 N95 Masks to Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Centers, a nonprofit that’s actively caring for patients during the COVID-19 crisis. One hundred of the masks were given specifically to FIGHT Family Dentistry, which provides comprehensive dental treatment for at-risk community members.
Matt Garfield helped spark the rejuvenation of the historic Prince Theater in Chestertown, MD. The Garfield Center for the Arts provides 11 months of arts programming and workshops to Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore, a rural community with needs and opportunities unique in the state.
Garfield’s pacemaker refining program allows participating crematories partners to donate used pacemakers to Project My Heart Your Heart, an initiative orchestrated by the University of Michigan to provide pacemaker access to people in need around the globe.
