We love talking about refining at Garfield. Please feel free to email or call us directly with any questions. But as a starting point maybe some of these FAQs will help!

Why Garfield?
When you are looking for a safe and secure way to get maximum value for your unwanted gold, it all comes down to trust. With 128 years of experience and over 500,000 satisfied customers, Garfield Refining has established an unparalleled track record and built a reputation as one of the premier precious metals processors in the country. Whether it's our world-class refining facilities, our state-of-the-art assaying techniques, or our experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly sales representatives, our decades of expertise will make it easy to see how we stand out from our competition. But even more importantly, our credentials provide more than just trustworthiness, they enable us to give you the highest possible payment for your gold.

Is my metal safe?
We take the safety of your material seriously! The entire Garfield facility, inside and out, is equipped with an advanced video surveillance system and is monitored 24 hours a day by a staff of on-site security personnel.  All precious metal material is safely stored in a series of vaults and safes. Furthermore, as a last line of defense, all metal is insured in full.

How will I know when Garfield receives my metal?
Just include your email address when you ship! The moment your package has arrived, you will be sent a confirmation email alerting you that it is here safe and sound. And of course, you can call our customer service line at any time.

How long does it take to get my payment?
We guarantee issuing payment within 24 hours of receiving your shipment-- ensuring you get your money as quickly as possible. Please be reminded that if you select our standard payment option, the check comes via the USPS and you should allow 5 business days for the check to arrive

What are my payment options?
You can receive your payment in a variety of ways- check, wire transfer, ACH, and even exchange for bullion. Your payment will be dispersed immediately after we have processed your material. The standard payment option will issue a check to your specified address. With our instant payment options, we can immediately ACH or wire the funds directly to your account.  Exchanges for coins and bullion are shipped via registered mail. Please note that all non-standard payments have additional transactional charges.

Do I have to use Garfield shipping materials?
You can ship to us in any way that works for you!  We recommend using our materials because they are free and easy, but if it makes you feel more comfortable you are welcome to use your own packaging and ship via any desired carrier (UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, etc.)  If you are shipping on your own, we want to remind you to be careful to securely pack your gold to avoid any losses during shipment (Boxes work best). We also highly recommend purchasing insurance for your package.
